Si Unyil dengan kombinasi part yang ini, benar2 bikin saya bengong walaupun sudah berkali2 bikin si Unyil.  Vokalnya bisa tebel banget, keluar tanpa tirai, penyanyi seakan menempelkan microphone di bibir, setiap desahan nafas terdengar. Tapi di beberapa track lagu agak sedikit terlalu soft, mungkin karena penggunaan R yang karbon semua..

Untuk tone control-nya tidak saya pakai kalo si unyil lagi nyanyi, dia udah gak butuh tone control lagi. Tone control hanya untuk mendampingi ampli lain untuk muter lagu2 gak serius. Tone control ini favorit saya, terbukti bisa menyingkirkan dengan mudah Tone Control Parametrik buatan bell, padahal komponen Parametrik juga sudah di upgrade. Setelah dengerin tone control ini, seolah2 tone control yang lain jadi kerasa busuk, mendem & bass gak fokus, treble kasar.

Efek gitar kere hore......

Skema ngambil dari runoffgroove.

Bikin efek distorsi itu susah2 gampang, gampang2 sulit, karena intinya cuma gimana caranya bikin sinyal output cliping (berkebalikan dengan membuat Amplifier audio). Ada beberapa cara membuat sinyal cliping. Pertama gain diset sangat besar/super duper ultra, pasti cliping. Kedua dengan menambahkan dua dioda yang dipasang paralel berkebalikan,pemasangan bisa paralel dengan resistor feedback (soft cliping) atau di output-dan ground (hard cliping). Kalo liat teori tersebut rasanya semua orang bisa bikin, tapi kalo asal bikin hasilnya jadi gak enak. Gain terlalu gede cliping ada bonusnya yaitu suara dengung yang menggangu (biasanya dengung sedikit adem kalo senar dipegang, tapi ttetp aja OK), masalah lain yaitu karakter cliping yang terlalu renggang/gak rapat ataupun distorsi yang gak rapi. Nah, itu tadi kalo cliping menggunakan teknik murni ultra gain, terus kalo cliping yang pake dioda, biasanya problem pada karakter distorsi yang gak enak di kuping, kadang sinyakl cliping terpotong terlalu tajam, jadi serasa putus2 distorsinya. Walaupun karakter juga tergantung dari jenis dioda yang dipake. IN60, IN914, IN4148,IN4001 dkk, Led, dsb.

Efek yang saya bikin ini ada sediki perubahan nilai komponen dan juga penambahan dibeberapa bagian untuk menghasilkan distorsi yang sesuai keinginan teman. Saya tidak memakai dioda sebagai pemotong sinyal sinus (clip) karena temen saya gak cocok dengan hasilnya. Akhirnya saya pake gain gede saja. Gain saya set sesuai karakter distorsi yang temen pengin.Gak ada potensio pengatur gain, potensio cuma saya pake mengadjust gain yang diinginkan,setelah itu saya ukur berapa resistansinya kemudian pake fixed resistor. Karena gain yang saya set tadi masih terlalu tinggi ( big humming), saya turunkan lagi samapi titik dimana distorsi bersih tanpa hum.

Untuk mode bypassnya, saya pasang 2 resistor di feedback, satu gain rendah/normal, saru lagi gain tinggi.pemilihan resistor dihandle oleh switch (bypass). Tapi masalah lain timbul, ketika mode bypass, suaranya kecil, mode distorsi, suara terlalu kencang. Kan gak lucu, kalo pemindahan mode harus muter2 volume!!! so saya pasang lagi 2 resistor di output, satu untuk mode normal (resistansi kecil), satu lagi untuk mode distorsi ( resistansi besar), sehingga output kedua mode sama/seimbang.

Untuk mendapatkan lengingan yang panjang (seperti Cry Baby/wah), saya tambahkan rangkaian delay, speed diatur maksimal, reverb setengah. Hasilnya bisa dilihat di video. Murah meriah bukan? :D

B1 Buffer Layout

Pertama keluar B1 buffer dari mbah Nelson, DIY-er sejagad raya rame-rame bikin nih buffer, low cost dan lumayan ningkatin sonic jadi alasan utama buffer ini jadi populer .Layout B1 Buffer udah banyak sekali beredar  tinggal pilih sesuai selera. Yang paling populer adalah layout bikinan kang CRT aka LaOde dengan berbagai versinya. Berhubung ada beberapa stok MKP 10uF dan elko kapasitas badak  tapi voltage kecil, maka saya bikin deh B1 buffer versi standard.
